Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and other daily annoyances

I am not sure how much longer we will have power. Gustav knocked out our power for a week. Now we are under a tornado watch from Ike.
Our crawl space (more like a large dirt room lined with plastic) is ready. We spent some time down there when the deluge of twisters hit Arkansas. One landed a few streets away and took out trees and several roofs. That was exciting. I was outside when the sirens were going off and hear the tornado. It sounded like a train.

My mom has the kids and they are supposed to be doing a camping thing this weekend. Canoe camp. I have been trying to get a hold of her "Hey you know there is a tornado watch right?" no such luck. She probably left her cell in the car.

Dh and I ventured out last night for a last hurrah before we have no power (lets hope that doesn't happen allright?). We went to Casa Manana on Cantrell. More on that later...warnings on weather radio going off now.
