ADULTS ONLY REVIEW-Kama Sutra Weekender Kit

I was recently contacted by The Adult Toy Shoppe to do a review of one of their products.
At first I was uncomfortable doing a public review about something related to *stage whisper* S-E-X, but really, where do you think my kids came from anyway?
I chose the Kama Sutra Weekender Kit. I know, I know! Compared to some of the items on the site this is pretty tame. No rotating beads, thrusting shafts, or bells and whistles. It really was something I wanted to try out though!

The husband and I were supposed to attend a wedding and decided to make the trip into a vacation. We travel without the kids fairly often. Mostly we just take in state trips so we don't have as much travel time. I booked a few days at a lake view cabin because this wedding was a few hours away. Of course I HAD to bring this little bad boy along.

The Weekender Kit contains The Original Oil of Love, Pleasure Balm, Wild Clove and Mint Tree Bathing Gels and Honey Dust with a handmade feather applicator.
In the past my husband and I tried flavored items such as edible undies, lotions, and similar items. They all had a sickeningly sweet taste and a plasticky finish. Not so with this set. I like that the Kama Sutra products are much more natural.

The scents are subtle and don't have that sharp chemical note that some products have.
My husband especially enjoyed the Oil Of Love ;) he said it smelled and tasted like Halloween Candy. The texture and consistency of it was just right for lovin'. The mini bottle it came in was cute with its tiny cork. My favorite product is the Honey Dust! Yes, it really tastes like honey and I like that it comes with a real feather applicator. It just seems so decadent. The mint gel really smelled like mint, not a lab made scent.

The decorative box this comes in is tiny, the perfect discreet size to pack into your purse, carry on, or weekend bag. We still have some product left so it will definitely be coming along on our next weekend away!

Branson in the Summer

You may remember that we recently camped in Hot Springs, AR. Our family is also taking a trip to Seattle, WA in August. One of the other places I would like to visit this summer is Branson, Missouri. Branson is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Missouri.
With its local attractions, musical entertainment, wide variety of restaurants, and superb lodging there is literally something for everyone.

The last time we stayed in Branson we booked a package that included a hotel, restaurant certificate, and tickets to local attractions. The kids really enjoyed our indoor pool and our visit to the Ripley's Museum. We also got to drive through the Christmas lights. Branson really goes all out during the holiday season!

I just read about a few deals that Hilton Hotels is offering. We haven't stayed the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Branson Landing is a relatively new area of shopping and restaurants. It is within walking distance of the convention center.

If you are looking for family entertainment Silver Dollar City is the place to go. It is not just an amusement park, though the rides are great. There are demonstrations of glass blowing, black smithing, candle making, and more by skilled craftsmen and women.
If sweets are your thing, Silver Dollar City boasts a candy shop or visit the bakery for a taste of delicious cinnamon bread!

Silver Dollar City Package (package also available through the Hilton Promenade)

Plan some fun with the Hilton Branson Convention Center, Silver Dollar City and White Water.

This package includes :
  • Overnight accommodations at our hotel
  • Three day park hopper passes for a family of four to Silver Dollar City and White Water

I might be going to hell

Exodus 20:16
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

The hubby is sick now and is working from home today. My cold/flu/THING is still hanging on. I think I may be getting a little bit better though. Low fever is good. I can deal with that over the week of retina burning temperatures I did have. Rupturing tonsil abscesses? Not so much!
I already know it is not strep. At least the rapid strep test said it wasn't.

The kids are on vacation with my Mother-in-law. They morning after they arrived (10 hr trip) my MIL called me to let me know that my oldest had a really sore throat. I hope she fared better than us! Last I heard it only bothered her in the mornings. They should be getting back late tonight or tomorrow. My days of rest are numbered.

Speaking of that. I was trying to occupy angry girl (my youngest) last week. She had her own bout of 103+ temps and sore throat.
Much drama was ensuing around here. She couldn't get comfortable. My oldest didn't help much with this. Every time angry girl went into her room all hell would break loose. After the 100th time of hearing "GET OUT OF MY ROOM" screamed at eardrum piercing decibels I started playing a little game.
To take angry girl's mind off her also angry (and dramatic) sister we started discussing the secret lives of the neighbors. Did you know that I have a Russian spy for a neighbor? Well I do.

Ben & Jerry's Mission To Marzipan

I am loving this new(ish) Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor!
"Sweet cream ice cream with almond cookies and a marzipan swirl!"
Having been visited by the sore throat from HE double hockey sticks, I am on the lookout for something to break up the monotony of broth and Gatorade.
I was actually desperate enough to eat a "burger" last night. Yes, my husband HAD to grill when I can't eat anything. I won't even go into his promise of coffee this morning then he says "By the way I made CHOCOLATE coffee." I am allergic to chocolate. Meanie. Anyway, so I actually ate about a spoonful of burger patty smashed up with onions and pickles in plain yogurt. Sounds appetizing eh?

I had to fill a prescription throat gargle at the grocery store pharmacy (which they wouldn't fill because the quantities weren't billable or something. arrgh!) so snatched up a few throat friendly snacks while I was there. Cottage cheese, tapioca pudding, popscicles, and tasty Ben & Jerry's Mission To Marzipan are my new friends!

News

1. My daughter brought me a present from her Texas trip. Germs!
I am miserable! Several days of 102 fever is not fun not to mention all the throat and other yucky symptoms that went with this bug. I have been sick since the night of July 1st and am getting really tired of sitting up to sleep! If it is not gone by Monday I am hitting the walk in clinic. My doctor is out of town and the other doctor won't prescribe antibiotics.

2. One of my dogs had oral surgery and had 6 teeth pulled. Poor baby!
She was in pain when she came home but seems to be feeling a lot better now.

3. More reviews are coming! At least two items should be arriving this week.
I tried the new Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain and will be reviewing that also.

Vintage Views

Etsy has been showcasing a lot of vintage items lately.
My grandma and great aunt were antique dealers and always had a lot of vintage things. Dishes, fancy old hats with veils, jewelry, etc. I spent many a day dressing up in elbow length gloves and evening gowns. Accessorized with my Chantilly Lace perfume of course.

Old costume jewelry was a favorite of mine, I am loving these vintage styled pieces from Rajean's Jewel Box!

Vacation

wild camper on TwitpicShare photos on twitter with TwitpicShare photos on twitter with TwitpicShare photos on twitter with Twitpic
excuse the cell phone pics, my digital camera is broken

I returned from vacation a while back but have been unable to post on this account for some reason! Every time I tried to make a new post the Blogger platform would time out. Whatever glitch caused this, it did not effect my other blog. Go figure!

We had a lot of fun in Hot Springs, AR. Our family stayed at the Hot Springs KOA Campground. We "roughed it" in a tent. The campground also has cabins and rv sites.
The weather was painfully hot, in the 100's just about every day, but there was a pool. The KOA also has a store, playground, game room, mini golf course, and pizza joint. My kids always enjoy visiting the campground ducks. Or rather, having them visit us. We ordered pizza (delivery to your site!) and were descended upon by ducks hoping for some spare crusts.

Magic Springs (amusement park) and Crystal Falls (waterpark) are nearby and you can catch the KOA shuttle to avoid the outrageous parking fees!
